CBD For Pets

“I don’t care what you say, Rufus, Fluffy and Spot are part of the family.” We, as pet owners, love our fuzzies so much so that we will stop at nothing and no dollar amount to ease their ailments because, we’ve all said it, “they are our children too.”

Taking your four-legged bestie to the vet can leave your pockets turned inside out. The only full thing is the prescription of pills they gave you for his pain management, daily vitamin and God only knows what the third medicine is for, but you were told he needed it.

What if you were told that so many of these medications could be flushed down the toilet? There would be one daily holistic medication that left no side effects that would benefit Fido in nearly every aspect of his ailments? We are talking about CBD.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of nearly 100 different compounds found in the cannabis plant. Deriving from the marijuana or hemp plant, this non-psychoactive king is taking the medicinal world by storm. CBD, unlike it’s cousin THC, has zero effects that make the user feel “high” which is why it is great to use for pets, children and seniors alike. There is also no chance of overdose or long-term side effects.

CBD oil has been cleared by the FDA and is legal for both animals and humans. Not all animals will benefit from cannabinoids. The body must have an endocannabinoid system. Dogs, cats, horses and humans do, meaning, we can all accept and process them, reaping the encapsulated health benefits. Check to see if your critter has an endocannabinoid system.

Pets are prone to a whole host of ailments just like we are. Anxiety, pain, liver disease, and cancer are just a few issues Sparky faces. CBD is a fantastic herbal remedy for pain management, therapeutic benefits and preventative care.

Studies have proven the effectiveness in so many different areas affecting our bodies. Here are a few (not all) health benefits your four-legged family member can overcome with the use of CBD:

  1. Pain Reliever

CBD interacts with the receptors in the brain ultimately improving the pain management system.

  1. Anticonvulsant

The FDA has officially approved the first cannabis-drug to reduce seizures. CBD is known for controlling seizures, tremors, tics and spasms without causing liver damage as most prescribed medications will do for pets.

  1. Anti-Inflammatory

Studies show that CBD decreases chronic inflammation.

  1. Stress Reliever

Many animals, like humans, experience anxiety, stress and even phobias. CBD helps manage these symptoms.

  1. Antiemetic

Controlling nausea and vomiting, it’s used as a tummy soothing aid.

  1. Anticancer Effects

Slowing tumor growth, protecting against certain cancers and killing cancerous cells, this herb is quite literally a life saver.

  1. Promotes Homeostasis

Safe to use as an everyday tincture, this supplement will promote wellness and overall health just as a daily vitamin would.

Administering CBD to any animal should be done so appropriately. Be sure the tincture oil is high quality and organic. The proper dosage per body weight is essential in order for best results to be noticed. So, go ahead, give Man’s Best Friend what he’s been barking begging for.
We all want to “See Spot Run” again.
